Clover Fields

Clover Fields is a new sea glass pendant I made this afternoon. This is a gorgeous piece of green sea glass with yellow and teal swirls. This piece of sea glass was found on a beach in the UK. I carved a groove around the sea glass and wrapped it with sterling silver wire. Great eco friendly gift idea. See more pics here.

Winter in Alaska

It is that time of year again. The cold air has blown into Alaska and also brought us some snow. Time to break out the electric blanket and cocoa.
I obviously spend alot more times indoors this time of year, which affords me plenty of free time to make new sea glass creations. Here is one of my latest creations from my Etsy shop.

This pendant is called Mellow Yellow. I made this with a gorgeous piece of yellow sea glass and sterling silver wire.

Wind!!

We had a massive windstorm a couple days ago. We lost power for over 30 hours and a tree fell on our house. Wind gusts were over 80 mph! :(

The Twins

These moose have been visiting our yard since last year. Then they were just babies following their Mama around. It has been so neat to watch them grow. Here are a couple photos.

So many Colors

This is a new bracelet I made a couple days ago. I mixed many different colors and shades of sea glass in this design. There are a total of 17 pieces of genuine sea glass. I collected these pieces of glass on a trip to Puerto Rico earlier this year.

The chain is a very heavy duty sterling silver chain. It measures 8" in length.

Please let me know what you think of the design. Enjoy! Or you can check it out here to see more pics and deails.

Mystery Lake

Mystery Lake, aka Diamond Lake. I am constantly looking for nearby lakes with plenty of fish to take my daughter fishing at. I was checking out the AK Fish and Game page when I read about Diamond Lake. It is supposed to be by Big Lake, AK. I wrote down the directions and we went for a drive to find it. The road that we were supposed to turn on was nowhere to be found. Of course I left my iPhone at home. The GPS would have been very helpful.

So today, my daughter and I are determined to find this lake...and catch some trout!
To be continued.....
p.s. It is gorgeous and sunny today..still breezy though. ;)

Day at the Park

This summer in Alaska has not felt like summer. We have had lots of rain and cloudy days. 2 Days ago it was partly sunny and super windy, so we decided to take what we could get and took our daughter Kenzie to the park to play. It was pretty chilly....but super pretty. Kenzie had a blast, while my hubby and I were nearly freezing. We held out as long as possible so she could burn off some pent up energy. She just turned 4 years old.

Custom Creation

A friend of mine asked me to make a sea glass necklace and earring set for her friend as a birthday gift. She supplied me with some sea glass that she found on the shores of Lake Superior to make the gift more personal. Here is the outcome.

Looking for a beach inspired gift? I made this necklace today. It is made with an amazing piece of sea glass. I do not even know what this color of glass is called. I rarely ever come across this hue though.
Along with the sea glass, I added a peridot Swarovski starfish. The crystal and sea glass hang on an 18" silver tone ball chain.
